The Nasarawa State Chapter of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), has lauded the Medical Director/Chief Executive, Dr. Yahaya Baba Adamu, on projects execution in Federal Medical Centre, Keffi. This was disclosed when the chairman of the Association, Dr. Attah Peter, led other executive members on a courtesy visit on the MD in his office, in Keffi.The Association commended the MD on execution of projects via: new Oxygen plant, Haemo dialysis Unit and 100 bed capacity ward among others.Dr. Attah, also used the opportunity to make request for enhanced welfare package for members of the Association.He however, lamented unnecessary physical assault on Doctors and other health workers by patients and their relatives and called on the Management to put out modalities to stop further occurrence.The Medical Director, Dr. Yahaya Baba Adamu in his response, thanked the Chairman and his team for the visit and solicited for harmonious relationship between the Association and the Management.He regretted the unnecessary assault of staff by patients and attributed lack of bed space in the hospital as one of the reasons behind. He assured that once the hundred bed capacity building is completed, the fight over bed space will come to an end. The Medical Director, urged members of the Association to be well behaved as many expect such from them, adding that, the Management of the Centre will continue to ensure safety of doctors and other staff of the Centre while on duty.
